Challenge #19 Line it Up and Stretch it Out

Good Monday morning everyone. How are your creative projects going? Are you like me and enjoy these winter months - staying cozy inside and getting lots done? I'm always more motivated at this time of the year.

Our challenge this week is to line it up and stretch it out.
I'm a very linear scrapbooker so this challenge keeps me in my comfortzone. Line it up ... your photos, embellishments, page elements, whatever you wish. Just line them up ... and thenstretch it out - across your page - across two pages. If cards are your thing, then keep it long and lean.
Let's see you s-t-r-e-t-c-h!

I did a layout for this challenge:

Joy
Okay Barb I'm all lined up and stretched out.

Bronwyn :

Here is mine! I love 2-page LOs so this was right in my comfort zone, too!
I used all 4x6 photos and S_T_R_E_T_C_H_E_D them in 2 long rows. To emphasize the length, I added some long lines of ric-rac and down the edges of the vertical row of photos I used up a hundred itty-bitty word stickers as a little frame.

Lynne

I like to do horizontal 8.5 x 11 layouts so I stretched the photos clear across the entire LO.
I even stitched together some photos to make it panoramic.

Challenge #18 - White + One

Hi everyone! Bronwyn here. It's time for another new challenge here at Use Your Stuff.

Here is a challenge that sounds easy on the surface, but I found, once I got started, that it was VERY hard to stick to!

Your Challenge: Use only White and ONE other colour!!

I love colour. I love pattern. Sticking to white + one was tricky, but I managed this:

(The green border looks like another colour of cardstock border, but actually it is the wall that I used as background for my photo!)

No patterned paper here -only 2 sheets of cardstock, my paper punches and a few stickers from Echo Park (and a cute little picture of my little lady!)

Joy

I always find working with white hard, I really don't use it as is very often in large amounts.
I tried stamping white one white, you can't see is very well in pictures. In person it's subtle but visible.
I chose brown as my +one.....and used a dark and a light shade.

a bit of detail
I broke out some micro breads, twine and some paper that's been
sitting in my stash quite a while for this weeks challenge.

Barb
Well, I'm a little late to the party, but at least I made it.
I loved this challenge. I love the look of tone on tone. This week I even found this inspirational site about using white plus one : White With One so if you love this look too and want some further inspiration, you gotta check it out.
Ok, on to my layout:

We want to welcome the newest member of our Use Your Stuff team, Bronwyn. Bronwyn has been on the design team at  The Scrapping Bug and I've always been very impressed with her creativity. She never ceases to inspire me, so I was very excited to have her come aboard our challenge team. I know that you will love her work as much as we do.

here's a little about Bronwyn:

Hi.  I am a happily married mother of three - 2 boys and one girl, and a full-time primary music teacher.  In my free time , which I always plan into my day, I love to be creative.  Sometimes I spend my time decorating my home, other times I knit, sew or crochet and, as often as I can- I adore paper crafting.  I am usually a a layout girl, but recently I have tried my hand at cards and home decor projects.   I love to mix patterned papers and I always add texture with ribbons and buttons.  My favourite scrapbooking item has to be foam pop-dots.  I use them in everything I create!  I am very excited to be joining UYS and I can't wait to get started on some challenges!
Welcome aboard Bronwyn!

We're still looking for one more member for our team. If you're interested, you can find the details HERE

Challenge 17- blue, green, orange & brown

Hello everybody, Joy here. It's my turn to set the challenge this week and I'm feelin' the
need for a change of pace. I have been working with holiday colours for the past while so I dug
into my stash to find some bright summery colours. Your challenge this week is to use....

blue, green, orange and brown on your creations.

Happy crafting!

Now it's my turn. I'm Bronwyn and I am the newest contributor to UYS. Here is my take on this fabulous colour combo:

Photobucket

I used a mix of October Afternoon papers and my tag-shaped punch to create a background for a picture from my oldest son's 7th birthday.

Barb
Fabulous layouts ladies.
...and now for mine:

It's funny how I can start with an idea in my head and end up sith something completely different. I suppose that's what creativity is all about. I just used a mix of odds and ends of patterned paper that I had layting around. The embellishments are K & Company. The journaling was done on the old-school dymo labeller. It's strips of white-core card stock that I put through and then sanded.

Use it as a sketch, or just pull something from it that inspires you. Have fun with it, and don't forget to come back and show us what you've done with it. We'd love to see your work.

Here's the ad:

Here's what I did with it:

Challenge 15 ~ Add it up

Happy new year & welcome back to Use You Stuff. I hope you enjoyed your holidays and time with family as much as I did. I feel like December went by with a blink of an eye. Seeing as we are starting a new year we would like to start something new here on the blog.

Each week we would like to highlight some of the projects that are being posted/linked to each challenge. So if you link up your projects you may find yourself being featured here on UYS.

Lets get into the first challenge of 2012.

Your challenge is use numbers as a major design element on your layout.
I found a numbers die cut that has been sitting in my stash for quite a while as inspiration for this weeks challenge.

I'm looking forward to seeing your interpretation of this weeks challenge. Happy crafting !

Lynne

Welcome to 2012 everyone. I decided to do a cover page for my 2011 album. All of these pictures have beens scrapped and are on their own individual layouts.

Barb

Here's my layout for this challenge. It's the last layout for my December Daily project. I knew this countdown border would be perfect for this challenge. It's from Silhouette.
