Challenge #142 Use Wood Veneer or Chipboard

Hello all.  Renee here with my first challenge.  I am super excited about this challenge.  I recently did a major purge in my scrappy haven.  After purging, I organized all of my elements, papers and other product.  One of the things that I had a ridiculous amount of is chipboard and wood veneer.  I apparently jumped all in on the wood veneer craze as I have a FULL organizer box of veneer alone, with another almost full box of chipboard. Ooops!

So, your challenge this week is to use veneer or chipboard on a layout.  Can’t wait to see what you come up with.  Here is a layout I did of me (one of my selfies).  I used both veneer and chipboard here.

Tammy
I have tonz of wood veneer in all kinds of shapes and sizes.  I love inking them up to fit the layout that I am doing.  For this layout, I used some starburst which I inked with some distress ink to fit with my DP.

I'm a tad late with my project this week - we were away camping. I have a lot of chipboard to use up so was glad to see this challenge! This is from my cousin's wedding way back in 2010. The chipboard pieces are the little tags and the circles with dragonflies on them.

Challenge #141 Highlights

Amanda is still away camping so I (Tammy) am bringing you the highlights this week and I do apologize for the delay.  Thanks for all the wonderful entries into our texture challenge last week!  You were so creative!
Here are some highlights for you

#10 Maxibelle Studio
There are some wonderful textures in here with the embossing, sanding and the embellishment clusters.  Wonderful color scheme as well.
#6 The Flamingo Chronicles
This layout has fun stenciling, crochet flowers and altered thickers! Just some of the fun textures that make up a lovely layout.

The faux metal gears on this card are just a fabulous use of texture.  Also the altered butterfly and textured background make for a fun card.

Thanks ladies.  Don't forget to grab your blog badge from the sidebar.  Join us tomorrow for another fun challenge!

Challenge #141 - Texture

Amanda here with this week's challenge! I'd like you to use something to give your project some texture! I chose to wrap some twine around some of my photos. I also cut out some flowers on my Cricut and use pop dots to give them some dimension.

Michelle
Here are a stamp with some gesso and jute to add the texture. I did some spritzing with glimmer mists to give some color.

Renee
Here is my take on the challenge. I pulled out my cuttlebug and a circle embossing folder to create a textured base for my image that I colored with my copics.  I also love to use rhinestones to create texture and a little pop. In addition, I also selected a background paper with a wood grain to it to create a visual illusion of texture.

Tammy
I was at a crop recently where we got to try out some of the new Gelatos and using them with gesso and modelling paste.  A very fun technique that makes great use of my stencils that I seem to have a lot of.  As you can see, there is texture to be had using these, and they are such fun!  We also cut out some layered butterflies with the sizzix.

Lynne
I am a little late to the party this week.  On this layout I used a piece of twine and some mesh behind the photo of my daughter at the beach.  I also used brads and some epoxy buttons to provide more dimension.

Challenge #140 - Father's Day

Welcome to 'Father's Day' challenge week everyone.  Lynne here.  I am hoping you all enjoyed spending time with your dad, or your kid's dad or just remembering your dad.  This is a layout I did a while ago.  I still love it.  It is of my nephew and his son.  Thank you for creating along with us this week.

Amanda

My husband loves Superman and when my friend Kathy over on another site heard that she sent me this digital stamp her husband drew. I made the word balloon to go with it and put it on a card for my son to give my husband.

Tammy

This is the card that I created for my father in law this year.  He loves ties! :)

I really liked the masculine feel of this card as well as that great circle template.  I didn't even realize at first that it is digital!

The vintage look of this card with all the pretty layers and ruffly edges is just so pretty.

Challenge #139 Circles

Tammy here with your new challenge this week.  Let's go round and round shall we?  Our challenge this week is to incorporate circles into your project.  It could be the DP, a diecut, a doily, or anything else in a circular fashion!

Here are some DT inspiration for you....

Tammy
I really loved the DP I used for this card.  I thought the 2 patterns mixed well and it was just a fun looking card.

Mother's Day 2014.  My daughter will be married in less than 2 weeks time.
I love this photo of the two of us.
All elements are from the Basic Grey Highline collection.

Challenge #138 Patterned paper

Challenge #138

Welcome to another challenge here at Use Your Stuff!  It's Anne. I am a new dt member here and am very excited to be hosting my first challenge this week, which by the way is super easy!  This week I'd like you to dig into your stuff and use patterned paper on your project!  We all have it and after using only half or some of the paper I know you have some leftovers!

Here's a little inspiration to get you started.  I thought I'd use some family photos from Easter, so you could start to get to know my little family!

Please remember to link your project back up here.

Lynne
This was an 'easy peasy' challenge for me as I rarely use solid cardstock other than black or white.  Years ago I started a second heritage album with all the titles being the year of the picture(s).  Here is one from 1940 of my in-laws.  I apologize for the picture quality, but you scrap what you have, right??

Tammy
Patterned paper is something that I have A LOT of :)  This was a great challenge to break into some that I've not touched in a long time.  This particular bunch is from a CTMH set called I think Superstar.  I just love the fun boy colors, perfect for layouts of Riley :)

Amanda
I have a ton of patterned paper too but I generally use solid colors for the background so this was a great challenge! This is my little man at three months old.

Michelle
I'm joining the UYS as a DT for the first time, gladly playing along Anne's pattern paper challenge. I got to admit I have stashed up papers and really need to reduce the papers  The red bold paper is from October Afternoon, one of the Xmas range (totally love this one) while the dull green is from Webster Pages just to pair up to give the constrast

Challenge #137 Highlights

Thanks to everyone who joined in this week to participate in our bling challenge. I loved looking at all the entries!

Here are a few highlights!

Alicia  did an amazing job on this folding card!

Julie put a lot of hard work into all the detail on this layout.

Marina's  card shows how just a few small touches of bling really can add a wow factor to a project!

Congrats to you! Don't forget to grab your badge!
