Challenge # 204 Metallics

Happy Holidays dear friends!!! Martha Lucia here this week to share with you a metallic challenge! In this opportunity you can use any kind or type of metallic think: inks, papers, colors, embellishments, embossing powders, ribbons or any other thing that you identify as metallic.

For example, I used metallic paper for the base of my card in dark brown color and silver embossing powder to melt the stamp Presents that I used on top of my card. Also, I used Encore Metallic Silver Ink to stamp my sentiment, World of Reality at the bottom. 1, 2, 3 different metallic products in only one project!

Karrie
I have used a metallic background sheet and silver foiled accents.

I decided to show you two Christmas cards using the beautiful Darkroom Door "Brushed Christmas Vol. 2" and the twig stamp from the "Dear Santa Vol. 2" set. The Sentiment is from the "Brushed Christmas Vol. 1" set. Both ornaments are embossed wit Pewter Powder.

Amanda

I used some metallic sequins to add some sparkle to this card.

Renee
For this challenge, I used Bronze embossing powder to stamp the floral stamp and sentiment. I then watercolored the flower inside the embossed stamp.

Share with us your metallic project and enjoy the season with this shiny touch!

It's Christmas Time - Highlights

Wow! There were such fabulous projects entered for this week's challenge. Being so close to Christmas, it was great to see so many people still hard at work crafting! Here are this week's highlights...

The white on white with just a titch of blue really made this card so elegant!

These ornaments are adorable and a really great way to use up those Christmas DP scraps!

The coloring on this image is fabulous as well as how it matched the DP almost perfectly

Congratulations ladies! Don't forget to grab your blog badge from the sidebar.  Thank you to everyone who played along with us.  Tomorrow will be our last challenge until the new year so we hope you will play along!

Challenge #203 - It's Christmas Time

Hello Everyone

Shirley here with a timely challenge, since Christmas is almost on our doorstep once again!  Where does the time go but? Seriously I am sure it was only Christmas time a couple of months ago!!  I wanted to keep my challenge very simple this month as it is such a busy time for everyone.  So "Christmas" is the theme and all you need to do is create something using that theme.  Whether it be a card, a layout or something off the page!

I have choosen to make an OTP project this challenge and have created a quick & rather simple little Christmas angel using a magnolia stamp, two different doilies (one store brought the other a Cheery Lynn die), some Stampin' Up inks and some bling!  Hope you like her.

Here is my idea for tagging Christmas Gifts that are sooo big regular tags get lost
(and using up old stash at the same time!!)

A Stencil for the background and then just lots of layers with Tim Holtz dies :)

It was hard for me to decide what to do for this challenge - tags, a Christmas layout, more Christmas cards. In the end, my need for more Christmas cards won out!

Amanda

I had tons of cards to make this year and this is one design I used.

Now don't forget to link up below so we can all see your gorgeous creations too.  Have fun and happy creating!

Hugs

Shirl

Challenge #202 - Stamping

Hi everyone! Amanda here with this week's challenge!
There are so many options for stamping now and stamps can really add
something special to a card or layout or any other project! I find at this time of year I am constantly using stamps, especially sentiments, for Christmas cards.

Majo

I used a variety of stamps for my Christmas Card.
The cat is from Katzelkraft, the tree, the stars and the woodgrain background are Darkroom Door stamps, the Music Sheet is made by Rubber Dance Stamps, the bow tie and the sentiment stickers are from Tim Holtz.

Martha Lucia
stamping with Versamark and gold embossing powder for a photo frame. I used Dreams stamp from Neat & Tangled.

Lori

Renee
For this challenge, I stamped my sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Black Ultra thick embossing powder to make it really pop against the patterned papers,

Show us your stamped projects!

Challenge #201 - Lots of Layers

Happy Monday everyone! The start of a new week means a new challenge here at Use Your Stuff. This week I am challenging you to make a project with lots of layers on it.

Lori
I have made a card for my project, and I have layered it up using these pretty papers from Fancy Pants.

A page about my hubby's favourite guitar |(out of his 7) the Taylor.
The layers I have;  my background page is gessoed, misted, stencilled, inked, stamped, painted,
and also added layers of papers, washi, diecuts, flowers and brads!

I have been waiting for just the right layout to come so I could scrapbook this photo of my gorgeous daughter at a friends wedding last year.

Amanda
I used lots of layers to create this card for a friend of ours who loves fishing!

Challenge #200 and a Blog Hop

Welcome everyone to our 200th Challenge! We are so honored that so many of you have followed and played along with us as we give you challenges to help inspire your creativity and we get so excited to see your projects every week!

For our challenge we are using the theme CELEBRATE~!

You can celebrate a special person, a milestone, a holiday or event! However the theme relates to you!

To help us CELEBRATE we are very excited to have Kim Evans the owner of Emerald Creek Crafts sponsor our Blog Hop and she has graciously offered a prize to one lucky winner.

Emerald Creek Craft Supplies is synonymous with Kim Evans. The Emerald Creek was named for my passions, my best friend and husband Duncan who I have known and loved for 21 years, and my west coast passion for nature and the out doors. In the last 3 years I added the rubber stamp manufacturing division to my company with the intent to move from construction to crafting. This past year I felt it was time to launch out with the company. The reception from everyone has been wonderful. I believe in being happy and crafting makes me happy. I believe nothing should collect dust and love coming up with many new looks for each of my craft products. I also believe that everyone has more creativity within them that they can discover and I love seeing the joy when they create something new and outside of their comfort. So we come to you as Emerald Creek Craft Supplies: Helping you unlock your creative potential!

You can find the store here and Emerald Creek also has their own great blog with lots of DARES so be sure to drop by and see what they have to get your creativity flowing!

In order to win this great prize,

you have to leave a comment on each DT member's blog/gallery. The lucky winner will be picked from one of the blogs but we're not telling you which one!  Feel free to drop by Emerald Creek's FB page as well to say hi!

The hop goes from Monday November 16th until Saturday November 21st and the lucky winner will be announced on the 22nd!

Challenge #199 Use Leftover Letter Stickers

Hi Friends!
This weeks challenge is to pull out a pack or two or even three of those leftover letter stickers, be they chipboard, foam or even flat letters, get them out and get them used up.
Here are few examples of a previous card and several layouts I created using those leftover letters...

Julia

I made several cards with the leftovers of at least 3 different packs of chipboard letters and finished up all 3 of those packs...plus I was able to use several of the wood veneer type writers that are nearly impossible to get used up!

I had these big letters leftover from a package, they were originally red, I painted them green and bordered them with yellow to match the letters on the background piece at the bottom of the photos. I then just layered them up as an embellishment...simple and it used them up!!

These started out as either raw, black or white chipboard. I painted them all with the same black paint and then covered that with black stickles for the glitter effect. They started out random but the paint and glitter effect brought them together to look a little more cohesive!

Finally I took five different sets of letters to create this background! Some of the letters that you just see a little of aren't really the letters that you may think they are... just a little creativity and you think you know what the next letter is!

MAJO

I used some foam to cut letters with the new Tim Holtz Thinlits *ABC123* for my CAS Card

I used a Little Letters Thinlits from Stampin Up and behind of this I pasted fun foam. I decided to create a non traditional colors Christmas Card.

Amanda

I always have a ton of z's left over! Finally found something to put them to use on!

So let's see what you can come up with this week! Make sure to leave your link so we can be inspired by your creations!!
